Terms and Conditions

Our main priority is the welfare of your dog, along with the safety of ourselves. These terms and conditions outline by which Bloom and Bark provides a grooming service. We will make every attempt to meet your requests regarding groom descriptions. However, you must understand that your dog may look different to what you envisioned. Please inform us as soon as possible if you’re unhappy with the groom so we can attempt to resolve this. Please be aware when you book in, you are confirming you agree to these terms and conditions.

Health, medical and elderly:

It is vital we are informed of any medical or health problems your dog has. This allows us to adapt your dog’s groom accordingly. All dogs must be up to date with vaccinations for canine parvovirus, canine distemper virus, leptospirosis and infectious canine hepatitis.

The grooming process can sometimes be stressful, especially for senior dogs and dogs with health problems. The process can expose hidden medical problems or aggravate existing problems. We will always inform you of anything unusual we have noticed during the groom, so you can seek veterinary advice if you feel necessary.

Extra time and care is taken to ensure comfort for these dogs. This may require routine and style to change as dogs age or as medical problems occur.

I reserve the right to terminate or refuse a groom. Reasons may include, reactivity, age, health conditions or not coping due to stress. we will not groom dogs on heat, pregnant or nursing dogs.

Matting Policy

Matted dogs will be clipped short in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act 2006. We will not put your dog through pain or discomfort to achieve a hair style. An extra charge will be added to matted dogs due to extra time, skill, products and wear on equipment. Irritation and nicks are more likely to occur when removing matts due to delicate skin. We do everything we can to prevent this happening. We do not accept liability for effects following matt removal. We are happy to provide advice to prevent matting.

Fleas and ticks

Bloom and Bark strives to be a flea/tick-free environment. If your dog has a flea or tick infestation, please reschedule your grooming appointment until the flea or tick problem is under control. If fleas are found on your dog before we groom, we will terminate the groom. If we find them mid-groom, we will bathe your dog in a flea shampoo. When fleas are found, we must prevent spreading by cancelling other appointments that day. There will be an additional charge. This covers the cost of lost appointments, the separate wash of towels, flea elimination shampoo and disinfectant treatment.

Behaviour

You must inform us if your dog bites, has bitten or is reactive to people, other pets or specific grooming procedures. If your dog cannot tolerate a certain part of the groom, such as, nail clipping, they will not be forced to have this done, and you will be made aware. We reserve the right to terminate the groom or service if we believe it is unsafe for your dog or the groomer to continue. There will be an additional charge to the groom for challenging behaviour. It is your responsibility to ensure we are made aware of any previous reactivity for both the safety of ourselves, and your dog.

Cancellation Policy

New clients are required to pay a £25 deposit. This deposit is non-refundable unless we are notified 48 hours or more before the time of the appointment.
For existing clients please let us know 48 hours before your appointment if you need to cancel or rearrange. If we are informed after this time frame you will be charged for 50% of the groom.

If you do not attend your appointment without notice, you will be charged for the full groom. In absence of a sincere explanation, future bookings will require a £25 deposit.

Accidents

Grooming equipment is sharp, even though we take extreme caution and care in all situations, accidents can occur. This can include, cuts, nicks, scratches or catching of nail quicks. In this unfortunate occurrence, first aid will be carried out as necessary, and you will be informed. It is your responsibility to ensure any injury remains clean and does not become infected.

Punctuality

Please be punctual. We offer free appointment reminders by text or email. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are going to be late. We may have to reschedule your appointment if you show up late as it effects following appointments.

We will notify you what time to collect your dog. It is advisable not to return to the salon before this time, as your presence may distract your dog during the finishing stages. Please show up at the allocated time as once the groom is complete, your dog may be eager to go home and may become unsettled and anxious. We will stop the groom where we are at when you enter the salon. Please contact us if you are running late. Late collections may incur an extra cost.

We ask all clients to always keep their phones on them and on loud whilst your pup is in the salon. Working with animals can sometimes be unpredictable, we do everything we can to ensure your pup is safe and happy. However, if anything were to happen, we must know that we are able to contact you at any time. This is also important for picking up.

We work on a one-to-one basis. When a dog comes into the salon our attention is solely on that specific dog. When dogs come in early/late, we are unable to focus our full attention on one dog.
